What types of outdoor living projects do you build?

We build patios, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, shade structures, fire features, seating areas, hardscapes, and complete backyard living spaces. We can handle simple upgrades or full outdoor makeovers, depending on how you want to relax, entertain, and use your space every day.

Can you help with the design and layout?

Yes. We help plan a layout that fits your home, yard, and budget. Our team focuses on comfort, flow, function, and long-term value, so your outdoor space looks great and works well for family time, guests, and everyday living.

How long does an outdoor living project usually take?

Project timing depends on the size, features, permits, and site conditions. We give clear scheduling expectations upfront and keep communication open throughout the job. Our goal is to stay organized, keep the project moving, and avoid surprises whenever possible.

Will my property stay clean during construction?

Yes. We take job site cleanliness seriously. We know construction at your home can be stressful, so we work to keep the area organized, protect nearby surfaces, and clean up as the project moves forward. Attention to detail is a big part of how we work.

Do you work on existing homes only, or can you help with larger projects too?

We mainly serve residential customers, but we also handle larger projects tied to remodels, property improvements, and custom construction work. If your outdoor living project is part of a bigger plan, we can coordinate it with the rest of the work for a smoother process.

Outdoor Living Spaces San Diego | Gebco Construction

Your outdoor space should feel like a natural extension of your home. At Gebco Construction, we create outdoor living spaces that bring comfort, function, and thoughtful design beyond the walls of your home, giving you more room to relax, entertain, dine, and enjoy San Diego’s outdoor lifestyle.

Whether you're improving an existing patio or transforming an entire backyard, we consider how the space connects to your home, how you want to use it, and which features will make it more enjoyable throughout the year.

Outdoor Spaces Built Around You

Every backyard is different, and the best outdoor spaces are designed around both the property and the people who use them. Depending on your project, we can incorporate:

Patio covers and shade structures
Pergolas and architectural features
Outdoor kitchens and built-in BBQ areas
Fireplaces and fire features
Built-in seating and gathering areas
Outdoor lighting
Walkways and hardscape elements
Integrated entertainment areas
Custom carpentry and finish details

For projects that include a new or replacement deck, we can also coordinate the deck construction as part of the overall outdoor living project.

Thoughtful Planning From the Start

A successful outdoor space involves more than choosing attractive finishes. Layout, sun exposure, drainage, grading, utilities, lighting, material durability, and connections to the existing home can all influence how well the finished space performs.

We consider these details early in the process so the different elements work together as one cohesive outdoor environment rather than a collection of separate features.

Built for the San Diego Lifestyle

San Diego gives homeowners the opportunity to use their outdoor spaces throughout much of the year. We design with that in mind, creating areas that transition naturally between indoor and outdoor living while providing comfortable spaces for everyday use and entertaining.

Material selections are considered for appearance, durability, maintenance, and exposure to the elements so your outdoor space isn't just designed to look good when it's finished, it's built for long-term use.

An Extension of Your Home

The best outdoor spaces feel like they belong with the house. We consider the architecture, materials, proportions, colors, and existing features of your home when planning the project.

From a covered patio with an outdoor kitchen to a complete backyard entertaining space, our goal is to create a finished environment that feels intentional, connected, and uniquely suited to your property.

The Gebco Standard, Outside

We approach outdoor construction with the same attention to detail we bring to our remodeling and custom home projects. That means careful planning, clear communication, an organized jobsite, and attention to both the visible finishes and the construction behind them.

With more than 27 years serving San Diego and decades of hands-on construction experience, we understand that the details you don't immediately see can be just as important as the ones you do.

Make More of Your Outdoor Space

Whether you're envisioning a comfortable covered patio, an outdoor kitchen for entertaining, or a complete backyard transformation, we'll help you develop a space that fits your home and the way you want to use it.
